Discovering our Early Ancestors
A field-walking project in Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire
Autumn/Winter 2019-20

Flint artefacts are the main source of evidence for hunter-gather people who lived in west Wales between 10,000 and 4,000 BC. Such evidence for these early peoples has mostly come from coastal areas, but recent work has started to recognise inland sites. This project will consist of systematic field-walking across ploughed fields in order to identify where these early people lived. At the moment we have not identified where to field-walk - you may like this project to happen in your community, or a location you are interested in. Or you may just want to get involved.

Either way contact: James Meek - j.meek@dyfedarchaeology.org.uk
