Remote Sensing and Archaeology
A Citizen Science Project
Would you like to be involved in discovering and recording archaeological sites? You can do this from the comfort of your own home, anywhere in the world! In recent years a vast array of geographic digital data has become available at the click of a mouse button. We know that these data sets can help identify new archaeological sites but until now there has been no systematic examination of them for this purpose. We are aiming to encourage people with an interest in archaeology in south-west Wales to systematically search for previously unrecorded sites on Google maps, other aerial photographs, LiDAR and other readily available sources. Training and professional support will be provided.
