Caves provide an exceptional environment for the preservation of the human and environmental past. However, those in south-west Wales are not well represented in the archaeological record and the often fragile deposits within them containing evidence of human activity are vulnerable to accidental damage. During this project records of caves will be created on the Historic Environment Record in conjunction with local cavers and other stakeholders.
